Great Company to work. Not perfect like anything else, but worth coming here.
Pros
Hi there. If you're reading this, you're likely considering applying, have an interview, or considering an offer. Here's my thoughts on the pros of Rose Rocket (and no, HR or anyone else did not endorse me to do this, though I see no reason why they need to). 1) They have a great emphasis on culture and leadership puts a great deal of effort in it. I have never been in a company where a company's values were anything more than scripted words on a wall. Rose Rocket has a great amount of self-awareness of who they are (and who they aren't), and the company leaders are always checking in to see where everyone's temperature is and how it guides decisions. As for what those values are - I rather not disclose openly to jeopardize the recruitment process. But I can assure you its not out of line with any model company. 2) Fair and honest work environment. I haven't really seen any mishaps and political ploys since I was here, but perhaps I haven't been privy to it all. Everyone is treated fairly and decisions are made without unnecessary policies and bureaucracy - in fact we try not to resort to overengineer policies and layered approvals. Collaboration is very important. So are organic and fair decisions. 3) Growth potential, and intellectual challenge. Company has been doing well and continues to scale - it certainly isn't a wilting flower. And they've got quite alot of technical challenges and areas of where you can provide input. Career ladders are also built, so you know where to go once you join, and the support is there from management and team to see you grow.
Cons
Like every company, nothing is completely perfect. It all depends on fit, but here's also my thoughts on it as well. 1) Pace of advancement. I know there are various companies that push hard and throw challenge seekers in to the fire to have them rise to the top quickly. From my view, this isn't one of those environments. Coming from my experience with other companies, if you are want to cultivate influence within the organization and put yourself at the top of the top, I think there are more competitive environments that reward you faster and more handsomely than Rose Rocket. And that's okay - harmonious collaboration and group competition are sometimes at odds. 2) Compensation. I'm not sure about the details around pay for upper echelon employees, but like many other startups, a company such as this lags behind a FANG or equally established entity. You won't get fancy gold plated benefits plans and enormous salaries, but there's quite a few list of perks, including a flexible vacation plan, as well as equity incentives. And while it is a startup, people are paid fairly in line with market, but just not leading the market. 3) Emphasis on group events and bonding. Rose Rocket is a friendly group, and they sometimes hold culture events, social (and safe) gatherings and have their own twist when it comes to having fun with presentations. There's no requirement you need to be at anything that isn't mandatory and partake in any culture event. But that being said, the company does try its best to cultivate a community, and for some people who simply want to work 9-5 and go home without the mingling need, it can be a bit buddy-buddy. Certainly not in a forced or cultish way - and there's certainly those who don't partake, but for some it can make them feel its a distraction or outside their comfort zone.
