Pros

Downtown Denver location in LoDo.

Cons

The worst public accounting firm I have worked for. Bad pay, bad management, hostile environment. Morale is unbelievably bad, employee turnover high for a firm its size. Staff forced to eat time and yelled at constantly while threatened by others that it is unacceptable. All above applies both to audit and tax. This firm has more ego than substance. St. Louis leadership very impersonal and superior.

Pros

Good staff relationships and fun people to work with (not for)

Cons

Bad leadership at all levels (one firm concept makes this a pervasive problem at all geographic locations). Never listens only talks Bad compensation, even for top performers, bad benefits as well. Not competitive with the Denver market. Cannot compete, because billings rates are not adjusted to geographic markets. Low realization rates create more pressure and harm the culture. Expectations are generally never clear. Reactive management group (no steady hands at the wheel), very susceptible to panic. Always reinventing the wheel every year with new policies, new templates, new approach every year. No baseline for comparisons.

Pros

The St. Louis office is located in downtown Clayton with lots of options to walk to a variety of lunch establishments; across from park.

Cons

Management by fear. Favorites played. Scapegoats selected. Politics difficult to navigate. Perception is EVERYTHING here. Old-fashioned, stodgy, conservative, strict. No flex hours or autonomy. Hard to get anything done because you have to get buy-in from the entire board, not just your department managers. Have seen Partners throw all-out temper tantrums over lunch orders. Screaming; yelling; slamming doors - totally against company "core values." Partners are kings; everyone else is a peon. Company expanded too fast with acquisitions and isn't skilled at it; as a result, folks in the newer offices are often resentful and angry (legitimately). Constant turnover. Stifling environment overall. Felt suffocated. Worst company I've ever worked for; worst managers I've ever worked for.
