Pros

The other front of house staff were lovely, and you get a free scoop every shift.

Cons

One of the worst places I’ve ever worked. The owner is constantly firing people for little reason, it had an incredibly high staff turnover. There’s a division between management staff/kitchen staff and front of house which could be quite toxic. It’s quiet in the winter but crazy in the summer, and so badly organised that it’s difficult for staff to cope. I was there part time but half the shifts you’ll get are short, 4 hours, so I was there 5/6 days a week. If you include travel it’s basically full time. The quality of the ice cream is inconsistent and it’s overpriced so you’re often having to justify it to customers or deal with complaints. They also don’t accept cash which was another issue we were having to field complaints over. I was overjoyed to leave.

Okay for casual work, ideal for students.

Pros

The staff were all friendly and the ice cream was definitely a pro!

Cons

The prices are so high you spend a lot of time trying to explain why to customers and the rota system was pretty useless. I had almost exclusively closing shifts and management would often change shifts around with very little notice. Also I was given an apron as part of my uniform but was told if any splashed of bleach got on it I would have to pay for a replacement (£40!), which seems strange as part of the job is bleaching spoons and the purpose of an apron is to protect your clothes.
