Pros

Flexibility of nonprofit organizations with scheduling (taking time off, adjusting work schedules). Benefits are rather average.

Cons

The ED was fired for cause (one being verbally abusive to her staff members...in a domestic violence agency) and returned with the help of the board, who were a part of the board during her time before being fired and are PERSONAL friends with her. The sheer politics of rehiring someone who was fired for reason, and having this person run the agency again when the staff clearly fear her...in a domestic violence organization...is beyond me.

Pros

Somewhat flexible hours, casual work environment, ok pay. Small office with direct access to all executives/upper management. Open door policy.

Cons

Disorganized organization, mean-spirited and unethical leadership at main office, fast turnover among employees for hostile working environment, questionable ethical standards. Extremely harsh, rude, and verbally abusive leadership.
