Not bad, not great, but you could do better

Pros

* Cool office space * Talented co-worker's * Full health insurance benefits

Cons

* No 401-K * Low salary's across the board * Don't expect yearly raises or reviews until you tell them you've taken or are considering a new job * Class seperation between the VP's/Executive's and the lower level staff * Feels like lower level staff is replaceable. They will just continue to hire young kids out of college who need a job and don't know any better. * No rhyme or reason to which clients have priority. Just reactive to their needs (which in this industry is somewhat of a given, but the way RUMOR goes about it leaves much to be desired), rarely proactive.

Pros

- Good co-workers. Most staff seem to genuinely care about the work they do. - Collaboration among departments is mostly positive and staff try to support one another to accomplish objectives and fulfill client expectations. - Client relations are a central concern and the staff as a whole do quality work for clients -- from traditional media to digital. - Fairly relaxed work environment, good benefits, a nice office space.

Cons

- A tangible void between account executives / VP suite and those fulfilling for clients - in disposition and, obviously, compensation, as in most agencies where client relations and sales are rewarded disproportionately to production / fulfillment roles. - Essentially no project management. Agency management has a very reactive, 'drop everything' approach to getting work done for clients. Frenzied, scattered dynamics most of the time. Projects are assigned and pushed off in favor of who is shouting the loudest to those 'managing'. Considering this, you are expected to treat everything as a high priority with no real hierarchy of importance in fulfilling on most projects. - Scope creep in your role is real and your only incentive in meeting the fluctuating and competing expectations is keeping your job. - From the CEO, expect little more than a languid disposition to the work that you do. No leadership or concern about your role in growing his company; only a 'get it done - do it better' mentality. - Salaries are well below even regional averages in certain departments.

Pros

The company has a good family feeling to it. The office space is beautiful and comfortable. The staff are all very talented and work extremely hard. The owner cares far more about his employees and clients than dollars and cents. It's a place I would go back to in a heartbeat. All of the negative people who once worked here are gone. Don't think twice about interviewing and taking a job here. You'll love it.

Cons

There are growing pains that any agency experiencing growth will encounter; like, bottle-necking, and workflow management. These things are improving, but you need to be flexible and willing to respond to changing priorities.
