Pros

Nice holiday party at the end of the year for employees. Several lunch and learn opportunities which provide free lunches, as well as breakfast being provided on Tuesdays. Cool projects.

Cons

While I think this company has the potential to be great, there are several areas that need improvement. In my short time there I had seen several people come and go which was alarming. The workplace often felt very cliquey and I was always the outsider listening to people be two-faced. This just sets the foundation for a toxic workspace when you’re supposed to be a team. Management in certain departments needs a wake up call on how to properly treat people. The previous reviewer who said “I often left the day feeling inadequate or out-right stupid for not being able to read management's mind when a lack of clear direction or communication was used,” could not be more spot on. When work from home days were introduced to provide flexibility to employees it felt like I had to fight for the days that worked best for me making the flexibility of the gesture slim to none. Additionally, no matter how much effort I put into my tasks and how well I performed, it always felt like it was never enough. Even when praised for my work, I received below-average review scores with the explanation that “there’s always room for improvement” this approach just made me feel undervalued instead of saying “you’re doing great and I want you to be exceptional.” Positive reinforcement goes a long way. Towards the end the joy and excitement I initially felt for this job had disappeared due to these issues and more.

Most toxic workplace I've ever worked at

Pros

There is a culinary center attached to the main office that hosts trainings so there was awesome food available frequently. Every Tuesday there was breakfast provided and that was also a treat.

Cons

This is the most toxic work environment I've ever worked at. Politics play a huge role in work conversation and if you are not a Republican, be prepared to have people bully, talk behind your back, and stereotype you based on having different beliefs. The management at this company is very unprofessional and I often left the day feeling inadequate or out-right stupid for not being able to read management's mind when a lack of clear direction or communication was used. There was no Human Resources department so I never felt comfortable voicing my concerns or having the opportunity to have a confidential conversation about how I was feeling. There is obvious nepotism at this company too, which was evident by family members being able to do whatever they want during work hours and making up new titles or changing their title.

Pros

You do learn a good bit about food service design working here

Cons

Nepotism is a problem at this company. Case in point: The review entitled “a thriving company fostering growth an innovation” was written by the owners daughter, the marketing manager or whatever title she has been given this time. It was taken down already but back up with the title not filled out.
