Corporate dungeon. Managers are incompetent and leadership tries to milk every ounce of life from their employees to avoid hiring new people. They pay you a salary to justify putting the work of 2-3 people on your desk, but then when you need flexibility they scoff and talk about you behind your back.
The only way to be promoted is to be liked on a personal level by the glib and extremely arrogant leaders. Your work performance does not matter as long as you are liked by management.
Management is usually never available, they take advantage of their roles and work probably 20-25 hours per week just micro managing the work horses.
You will be bogged down in pointless meetings that last hours. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss people’s personal lives. If you do not attend, you are looked down on and judged by your leaders.
SECURA splurged on a $100 million building before COVID, now no one wants to be in the office and the company is losing money. Change of CEO resulted in decreased morale and increased workload to attempt to make up losses.
Not every department is bad, but more and more are becoming infiltrated by incompetent leaders and losing the company money.
The attitude is mainly just to pay claims, even when they shouldn’t be paid, so that the company can put more claims on your desk.
In sum, SECURA has taken a massive leap backwards and has lost millions of dollars as a result. The prior CEO saw the writing on the wall and retired, and the current CEO is in over his head with incompetent leaders and a terrible book of business. SECURA has stopped writing personal lines policies and is on track to fail as a business in the next 10 years.
