Pros

The pros are the people who work there, the co-workers [non-managers] are great. But then again I think everyone realizes how terrible this company is so everyone had each others back and tried to be supportive during this clueless time. Basically it's family vs the workers. Another pro is that I found another job right away so I didn't have to work here too long. The manger I worked under was great [he was a non family member] and our team was fun, but while I was leaving so were three others. We saw the writing on the wall.

Cons

- I understand its a small business, but hiring numerous family members and then giving them high management and sales positions is a huge mistake. The "family" continue to make costly mistakes to the company [millions in dollars] and they have no idea how to do their jobs. None of them have experience in the field they manage and yet hold all the cards and final decision. Most sit around and watch YouTube all day and if things go down hill they take it out on the team they manage. - I've seen family members with no experience or knowledge of a department be handed the keys to run a team, while others who have been with the company for years with all the experience be stepped over time and time again. I feel bad for those workers still there. - They offer 401K and benefits, then take them away. They offer more hours, then take them away. The shady business practices and lack of ethics at the top of the company is a cause for concern. They have no idea how to handle an American small business. - No job security what so ever, high turnover rate, suspect illegal workers and no chance of raises. They shipped many jobs over seas and laid off workers. Non-family managers have been working their for years with no pay raise, some have even seen their pay cut, while family members see a pay increase.

Pros

There are not many positive things about SF Corporation. I can say some of the people are great, working in Online Sales you get to work with great co-workers and are left alone to do your job. Another bonus you get to listen to music while you work.

Cons

There are two groups of people at this company. The family and the non-family. The family get promoted to manager positions with no prior experience and knowledge of how to do their job. The non-family members get pushed around, treated unfairly and get blamed for the mess ups of the managers. They continuously make unwise accounting and business decisions that affect the company daily. They would rather satisfy their ego and fail or pass on a sale than admit one of the non-family workers were right. They also pay well below average salary for all positions involved, turnover rate is extremely high and they did offer benefits but began to strip them away when business was starting to lose money.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to address the comments from our perspective. Just like he said, we are creating a workplace where employee can feel relax, stress-less at the level of their performance. According to a survey conducted by the National Life Insurance Company, four out of ten U.S. employees state that their jobs are "very" or "extremely" stressful. Stress exist in any workplace, but we are doing our best to keep it low. If you are working in an office, you do get your own space with minimum supervision from your superior (we want it this way, so our managers can concentrate on planning, not micro-managing). If you are self-motivated, independent, and proactive to contribute ideas and efforts, you will grow up in rank very fast. It is the same for us to keep a good employee like you. Internet retailing is a very new industry, with updates and new things everyday. 90% of our employees are hired with no prior experience in this industry (ask your colleagues), so do not bring out the family card to play politic, that the family members have inadequate qualifications. They are only 7 family members out of the 90 employees, and most of them have worked with the company before many are hired. In another word, they hold the longest experience than many of the employees. And yet, they are always prepare and are learning new things everyday, so speak to them and in the meeting for any new ideas and contributions for anything that you can help the company to grow. They are Asian, and it does not mean any Asian in the company are related to them (apply your common sense, use your brain). The 4 C-level management are family. They have strong passion to see employees grow and excel in their life. It is rather a true joy to see their company work for the good cause, creating jobs and opportunity to the community and people around them. If you are employee, but you have yet to speak to any of them, I would encourage you to speak out and see how they handle your questions. We have open door policy, managers door are wide open (unless they are in a meeting), this is to encourage people to talk to them. If you think the people in the family is not doing anything, I ask you to think twice - they grow this company from 5 to 90 employees today, and is still growing. These successes are achieved by all the employees who stay focus and work hard for, not those who come in to find fault, self-pity and blame the 'family'. All pay grade is according to job experience, qualification and your performance. If you feel you are really good you can propose for a reasonable raise. It is interesting that this reviewer seem to know everyone's pay rates when he/she made such as statement here. Every person perform differently in job; if you are positive, self-motivated, never give-up, you will excel in any job.

Thank you so much for your constructive comments. It is our belief that the work environment should be relaxing and lesser stress possible. Perhaps this is also why it gives impression that we are least organized, and non decisive. We are shaping our goals and visions, and as a new HR initiatives, we are restructuring KPI evaluation and hopefully that will provide better insights in how we look at work again, without adding stresses and pressures. Family members are only the small numbers, and we can't grow more without all of the employees participating in our growth. If you are the employee, listen: speak to us about ideas, potentials, this is how you can get opportunity to move up.
