Cons
1) No work-life balance: staff work during day time and attend long, inefficient meetings in the evening. Effective staff may have to work 12-13 hours/ day. Working during weekend and public holiday is required with minimum compensation for this position. 2) Constant shortage of staff: The high turn over rate leads to a constant staff shortage, especially in operation. This causes current staff to be asked to overwork or to be transferred to new role without any training. 3) Middle managers lacking management skill: Very weak task allocation skill, lack of experience in mange diverse team (with multinational members). Seniors/middle managers do not listen to staff's feedback, instead impose their seniority by blaming staff and insist that they are right. 4) Insufficient safety procedure and training for on-the-field staff: During the time in the company, I have witnessed 4 people being injured (one with broken ankle, one with broken palm, one falling down from high cargo and one falling down in the container and got hit by a big nail) during field work. 5) Unreasonable customers: if unlucky, staff may have to work with unreasonable customers who ask for big shipment being prepared in one day, or cancel shipment last minute. The company does not have any mitigation measure (e.g. contract terms, penalty policy) for these circumstances.
