Pros

There are some very nice and talented people in the trenches,

Cons

The real trouble started when SRS was bought by an investment firm a couple of years ago. They started driving unrealistic deliverable schedules and hired a goon as development manager to coerce, threaten and bully people into working 60+hour weeks. One high level manager even promised at a department meeting that their would be bonuses if schedules were met, This turned out to be untrue, because schedules were met but no bonuses were payed. Sometimes things have a wonderful way of resolving themselves. The two managers above were shown the door because it became obvious they were incompetent and the investment firm is left with a product that is, to be kind, sub-par and unmaintainable.

My apologies for the tardiness of this reply. We take all feedback seriously, and I am sorry to hear that you were feeling this way at the time you wrote this review. I do hope that, if you are still with us at SRS, your feelings are quite different now. Change is difficult for any organization, but SRS is now coming through that change positively, thanks to the expertise and dedication of our talented team – as well as the backing of our investor. We absolutely value each and every person at SRS, which is why we offer so many ways to communicate any internal issues and actively pursue issue resolution. I hope that you and anyone here will utilize those avenues of communication whenever you feel something should addressed…or when you have a suggestion for ways to make SRS even better. ~ Sincerely, Scott Ciccarelli, CEO

Pros

If you enjoy being miserable at a job - this is the spot for you! 12+ hour work days and weekend coverage. Mediocre benefits. A really nice office that someone was definitely fired for dumping too much money into.

Cons

When you have down time, it's nice to talk to real people about things you have in common. At SRS be as phony and fake to fit a boring person mold, if not start looking for a new job. Are you looking for a job with longevity? Don't go here as the company may have 1-2 years of life left. And if the company doesn't fold, they will find a way to get rid of you if you deserve more money. Everyone is trying to make their teams look good but mess up each other's agendas which causes angry clients to leave. The product is so terrible and keeps getting worse as no one looks to fix the problems with it. Everyone just wants to add more garbage and not look into what's wrong with it... Great plan! Hackathon's? Why don't you try fix-a-thons and see who can resolve the employee complaints fastest? All of the smart management got out. Now you have a bunch of people managing other people who all have no idea what they are doing. Your team will have at least 3 people mangers and some "senior" employees who act like they are in charge. Management even has their own personal snitch who stabs EVERYONE in the back.

Amazing the downfall experienced in a year

Pros

Only positive, most of the people. Even on the worst of days and the non-stop hammering taken in dealing with angry clients due to software issues, the majority of the co-workers in operations were great to work with. Its a shame to see what was accomplished by everyone now disappear.

Cons

Numerous top notch people have left, are leaving or actively seeking to exit ASAP. Just in support and implementation at least 10 people have left since last fall. Some of these people were of the most senior level when it came to technical knowledge. This doesn't include several rounds of layoffs with fears of more to come. Seems like there is little new customers coming onboard. Unsure if that is the industry in general or bad word getting out there. Zero confidence on company stability and whether it will be around in a year. An investment firm took over a few years ago and that's when the downfall began.

Thank you for taking the time to share your SRS experience, which I wish had been a better one. I agree that people are what make any company special, and that’s especially true here. As is part of the software company business, upgrades bring many benefits but also challenges, and these growing pains can be felt organization-wide. And although some of our team members have moved on, SRS is still proud to have many talented, trained, and dedicated individuals on staff – ready to serve our clients and each other better than ever, thanks to a new support structure that is now proving to reduce tickets. We look forward to keeping it that way. Sincerely, Scott Ciccarelli, CEO
