      I should of known better...

      I guess I am getting paid.

      It is a very strange environment. I have just started and I do not have any work to do. I am given 'work' that I have pretend to work on and log hours to it on an online system. I really should of know. A few months ago when I was interviewed the interviewers seemed very strange. They seemed to not know what position they were interviewing for. I now find myself looking for another job just after starting. At this point I really feel I should of stayed at my previous employer. I should of really asked more questions in the interview....

      Everything but the actual content of the job is good

      - Very understanding for flexible working arrangements - Low pressure - Ok interpersonal culture

      Cons

      - Technical debt - Fire fighting - No one wants to have hard conversations - No future career direction - Management would rather you use old software tools that are broken that make everything take 50% longer rather then just investing more in ICT to actually uplift these systems - The company does not value new ideas or ICT infrastructure at all - Direction seems to be heading towards a cliff

      Disfunctional and Toxic Management

      Pros

      6 weeks of annual leave, flexible working arrangements, above market salaries (although this is reducing after implementation of a new remuneration framework).

      Cons

      Total internal disfunction. Everything in Saab is about the Adelaide office, which won't play nice with any of the other offices. Management work in silos and don't communicate anything to staff. Managers who sideline their own staff and create a toxic work environment are tolerated. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy.
