Pros

Convenient location off of a Main Street

Cons

Doesn’t adhere to covid or CDC guidelines (allows unvaccinated staff to NOT mask), Mandatory unpaid meetings and education scheduled on off time, no sick time (argues with you if you try to call out), expects you to stay passed shift to clean unpaid, cares about quantity vs quality (forces you to squeeze clients in), boss frequently gossips about staff to other coworkers and clients, boss frequently brings her unruly children in to the salon which causes a disruption to clients services, blatant favoritism, allows unlicensed staff to touch guests, doesn’t follow state board protocols of cleanliness, boss encourages employees to bully other staff members so they quit to prevent having to fire them and pay in to their unemployment, doesn’t follow labor laws and wage laws, the boss makes staff parties mandatory and is hostile towards employees who don’t wish to attend, boss is against Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ rights

Pros

32 hour work week. Flexible hours, 8-2 or 2-8 Tuesday- Friday and 8-4 Saturday unless you above a level 2 then you can opt for different hours. Monthly Education for product knowledge, new techniques etc. Has monthly personal meetings to go over personal growth and goals so it is tailored to your needs and aspirations . Owner is open to new brands so if you love something usually they will bring it into Salon to have team try. Is an Aveda Family Salon so they carry everything but not concept so they have other major brands as well. Most of the staff are "team players" , if you're running behind or don't offer a particular service someone will step over and help but aren't catty about having to get you caught up. Offers Aflac and IRA options. Located in an affluent area so tips are great. Most of team has been with Salon for 6+ years, only left because I moved out of state.

Cons

Often hires younger new stylists straight out of school with minimal work ethic. Higher level Stylists train associates/ assistants.

Pros

32 hour work week, busy salon

Cons

Management cares way more about quantity of clientele over quality of their service. I enjoyed part of my time at salon forza, but it got very stressful as it got busy. Management normalizes making clients wait 10-30 minutes for their appointments. They tell you you’ll get a certain commission but take 10% off the top of your services in addition to overhead fees that get taken monthly out of your paycheck. It’s not worth the work we put in for a mediocre paycheck. The only stylists who make good money work 50-60 hours a week. Management also gossips about employees to other employees. It can be a very drama-filled, unprofessional setting at times.
