Pros

WFH, good people, flexible hours

Cons

The company has been through multiple rounds of redundancies, so it's hard to feel secure in your role. Direction from leadership isn't always clear, and there's a real gap between leadership and the rest of the team. There are passionate people who want to make an impact, but internal relationships (politics) and processes tend to get in the way. Funding has been an ongoing challenge, which is worth knowing if stability matters to you. Salary was stagnant and benefits got worse over time. Everyone is very optimistic, which sounds like a good thing, but it can give you a misleading picture of how the business is actually doing.

Pros

Salary was good initially, it's slowly getting eaten away by inflation. Decent benefits (WFH, wellbeing allowances).

Cons

Expect constant strategic whiplash with leadership pivots every few months and little acknowledgment of what didn't work before. When the Series B fell through, the CTO conveniently took the fall to appease investors. CEO claimed to take "full responsibility" in an all-hands, then immediately announced massive layoffs. The cognitive dissonance was remarkable.

Pros

Remote work, good cause, good benefits package

Cons

Weak/nonexistent leadership, good benefits are used to trap people into staying in a bad situation, they will use you until you’re at your breaking point and then will let you go, they can’t choose a direction and don’t know who they are, be cautious and don’t trust anyone lightly if you decide to join!
