Awful, awful culture

Pros

The mission is important .

Cons

The CEO is incredibly verbally abusive, gives unclear guidance, and is even childish in her actions towards employees. She expects interns to take on all of her duties without any training, then screams over the phone to them about their failures.

Tough place to work

Pros

Remote work and flexible hours

Cons

It was very difficult working here, one of the worst internships I had throughout my career. I was simultaneously expected to be menial tasks (spreadsheet after spreadsheet) and also things way out of an interns' capacity (finding donors like Walmart, etc). There are not enough people working there. The CEO yelled at me on the phone several times in the span of a few months. It really impacted my mental health negatively working there. Not enough guidance. I was blamed for things that weren't my fault and expected to get the organization trending and recognizable as an intern.

Pros

The mission is amazing, as is the story. There are many wonderful initiatives and ideas happening.

Cons

The management really is looking for someone who is far more skilled at project management and admin tasks, but no one would ever accept such a low salary except for interns. Don't believe the fairytale told to you during the interview stage-- you will be criticized and blamed for things you have no control over.
