Difficult environment

Pros

Cool, young brand to work for.

Cons

The office environment is a bit toxic. There were days when I would walk in and not have one person say a word to me for the entire day. No training provided whatsoever yet you’re expected to know how to reach KPI’s that are put in place for you to fail. Other employees that have personal relationships with management are cut throat and unapologetically so. Zero growth opportunity- only consider if you enjoy being at a standstill. The CEO is intimidating and unapproachable. I felt myself slipping into a depression at this job. Had high hopes and am skeptical of all future workplaces due to my experiences at this one.

Pros

I am attempting to think of pros but honestly there are none.

Cons

Cruel and unusual management style. No privacy in the office. No opportunity for growth. Executives are dismissive and rude. Low pay and no 401k. Huge language/culture gap between the Russian and American employees. Zero company culture. If you have a legitimate concern, HR will laugh at you. Shady business tactics. Failing business model. Racist remarks are common in this office. I could go on, but you get the point.

Pros

I interned at SB for 6 months. I was pleased I got paid for this internship ($11 an hour), got credit at my university, good location, and I did make a few really great friends!

Cons

Not a great learning environment, no communication (all done on slack, an online database, where employees message one another even though everyone sat IN THE SAME ROOM!), no one gets free goods, and even if you do, quality of their products is horrible (I did sneak some stuff in and I actually gave it away- DOS makeup is crap!). CEO Mariyah is very rude and found her to be a phony, doesn't know what's going on in her own office. They had so many backorders and were actually losing subscribers, but she did NOT CARE- EVERYTHING WAS A MESS. Also, turnover rate was off the roof- at least TEN people quit or were fired within 6-8 months. AVOID THIS COMPANY! I WOULD NEVER GO BACK, EVEN WITH A RAISE!!!! I don't even think they will last- I give them ONE YEAR before they go out of business!!!!!
