Most disjointed, dis functional company ever

Pros

Employees are intelligent, goal-oriented people

Cons

This company is run by a delusional, schizophrenic president from the UK,along with owners from Germany. They do not allow the intelligent, goal-oriented people (afore mentioned) to contribute in any meaningful ways. The president will not heed any advice that is contracdictory to his own narcissistic style. He's a jerk, a man-child, and a bully, who is also so cheap he took away employee benefits until he realized he needed one such benefit. He avoids firing the one piece of dead wood in the staff, meanwhile everybody else needs to break their backs for him. Useless meetings with no agendas fill the schedules of the employees, preventing them from getting work done, and then he reprimands the staff when things don't get done. There is no way to excel in this environment. In the span of a year, nearly 25 people have either quit or been fired (although the president himself only had the dirty task of firing one person). When firings have taken place, the president was conveniently absent from the premises. Don't let the phony, hearty laugh of the so-called English gentleman lure you in at the interview.

Running on fumes

Pros

Lots of growth potential, small team

Cons

Management is extremely stifling. Employee's are regularly told that the brutal schedule and long hours are all part of the startup environment however the company's German parent (about 400 people) regularly shackles employees to processes that are only half deployed rather then let employees do their own jobs (e.g. The job just be done THIS way but that way doesn't work because the software isn't deployed in the USA yet, so you're stuck). This creates needless barriers and confusion which gets in the way of company success. The CEO of the north american branch does not have a strong understanding of how to support the employees in their day to day functions, leaving me feeling like I don't have the tools or mentorship required to succeed. Near constant turnover for senior level management positions has not helped. Working here has left me burned out inside of two years. It feels like fighting a forest fire with a garden hose.

Half these reviews are fake

Pros

During my time at schleifring, there was a point of real promise for growth and positive change. Unfortunately that was stomped out by bad senior leadership and worse strategic planning. Plus my direct manager was definitely the best boss I've ever had.

Cons

Besides the fact that half the reviews on here are fake and just meant to counter balance bad reviews? This place is understaffed and has a consistent problem with onboarding more work than is humanly possible. I spent months working a full day on site, only to go home and remotely out another 4-5 hours in... and I was still falling behind. Not to mention it's absolutely toxic for people on the factory floor.
