The management likes to tell you that they trust you and you have plenty of flexibility working there. However, they make you thumb in/out every day. You will get a timesheet at the end of each month and for each day that you did not clock in 9hr15mins, you have to explain why. The working hours are long, from 8.45am-6.30pm and yet they boast of work-life balance. The management would tell you their work-life balance is one of the best out there but that is only because they leave early. The managers would also tell you things such as “You cannot go home if you do not send 1 CV today”, how is this even work-life balance?
For people with no recruitment experience, they lie and tell you that trainings will be provided. However, all they have are a whole list of slides for you to read through on the first day. Beyond that, you are thrown into the deep trench. If you expect the managers to help you, don’t. The managers could barely understand the jobs/roles they are trying to fill.
They like to boast that they are one of the best tech recruitment companies in Singapore and that their clients can attest to that. However, they do not even work with tech companies. They only have a few active clients and their rates are very low. Most of their roles are contractual roles. If you think you can earn money when you are there, you can’t.
Their commission payout is once a year. Given their rates and the threshold you have to cover, you are just surviving on the basic salary they are giving you every month, no point working for them if you are there for the money.
The management is very elitist. If you are not from a presumably good university, the management would make comments on your IQ or your vocabulary. It is not a pleasant environment to work in.
They say that people leave because they feel too overwhelmed. That is not the case. They leave because the management micromanage people. They leave because there are just too little roles to work on. They like to pass on the same role from one person to the other and tell everyone they expect profiles from them.
However, their resources are very limited. They only have Monster and their own database. They like to boast about their database. Yet, the funny thing is that the profiles in their database are mostly taken from Monster. They can’t even afford a LinkedIn Recruiter account. They just teach you a loophole that allows you to bypass the maximum monthly search and views on LinkedIn.
Even for their staff who has worked with them for a couple of years, the management does not bother holding a farewell for them. They let the staff leave without any well wishes even though they have worked hard for them. What’s worse is that they might try to guilt trip you when you leave. The management does not care about their staff, they only see them as money machines.
