Toxic culture that wastes incredible talent

Pros

Very talented and sweet coworkers Great mission on paper Technology-focused, so there are good resources available for STEM education Relaxed, doesn’t have that rigid corporate feel

Cons

No flexibility. Leadership is stuck in their ways and not open to ideas from employees. Staff are not trusted and are very limited in their abilities to do the jobs they’re hired for. Micromanagement is constant, while actual guidance and clarity are missing. Not a safe space to voice concerns or ask questions, anything personal you share can and will be used against you. Shady business practices and a lack of transparency across the board. No structure or clear processes, leaving staff confused and overextended. No career growth or opportunities for advancement. Many talented employees leave quickly. Employees are often asked to do work outside their scope without support. Favoritism is rampant, especially toward those related or close to leadership. CEO frequently humiliates, berates, and curses at staff, creating a hostile environment. Meetings drag on for hours and accomplish little more than giving leadership a platform to ramble. Morale is low, and turnover is extremely high. Everything is last minute and thrown together.
