Pros

- Free lunch on Weds - City office is new - Has some good people

Cons

- Good qualified people were hired but not given trust and respect to do what is right and told to follow orders instead - There is an expectation that delivery teams are agile but the organisation and mainly leadership have no clue what agile is - There is no real strategy with only reactive decision making by a reactive CEO and snail paced CTO who aren't experienced in leading and supporting people effectively. They pretend to play chess but in reality they're playing checkers to the detriment of the people they impact who they are willing to sacrifice to meet their objectives. They don't live the values and they're behaviours demonstrate this with their main concern to protect themselves and get bonuses they don't deserve. - No real structured support with learning and development - People are fearful to express what they truly feel because they have seen what happens to those that challenge things - Recent shedding of staff (redundancies or people quit) has led to others to feel disengaged across the business

Pros

delivery teams have some amazing people who are always willing to help each other, there are some exceptional employees who lead the team by example and stnad up for them.

Cons

incompetent CEO and CTO makes SW one of the worst places to work . The delivery teams are always under constant deadlines to deliver the work that was never estimated by the teams.CEO has no idea how the digital business works and fails to do the right thing . They are building on a very weak foundation of a product ridden with techdebt which they do not want to address. They are busy patting themselves on their back and paying themselves big bonuses instead of builinding a good product. They bully and manage out the experienced professionals who try to stand up for the teams and do the right thing.the Old selfweealth employees get paid for doing whatever they want and no ones questions them while the new joiners end up working late nights doing their share of work to meet the deadlines. Old employyes do not work with the teams to share their knowladge .Basically everyone is set up for failure and get blamed for not able to deliver .CEO and CTO are so ignorant that they think service delivery and digital delivery is same .In the yearly peromance reviews employees do not have a say , they are just told the outcome . there is no work culture that promotes mutual growth and learning for employees.Providing wednesday lunch is CEO's idea of social culture .Delivery teams are good , they try to help eath other but its not sustanable in long run, as member are getting burnt out now. If you are not desparate for a job I would suggest you to steer clear of selfwealth.sadly some of them have been bullied to leave and some of them have been managed out of business cos they were challanging the decisions manaegment was making.Bad CEO and CTO make it hard for good people to stay.

Pros

Great location Free lunch on Wednesday

Cons

Management feels very old school very much bums on seats approach. Strange focus on staff being in the office 60% of the time. Better things to worry about like wellbeing and happiness of staff. Happy staff become more engaged. Focus or strategy seems weak and vague. Vague enough so there is no accountability. Business was scaled up quickly without the function to support strategy, direction or scale. Which has caused lots of continuous disruption. Feels like a very backwards short-sighted approach to how they tackle problems. 'Think about customers in decades not days' Is the guiding principle but with a board and stakeholders, users are second, so easy quick 'wins' seem to be the goal.
