There's a lot of racism and political discussion throughout the factory. A lot of trash talk and stuff you wouldn't hear at places similar to Sherpack. While simple, a lot of the work is tedious because they bend over backwards for their clients. The break room is separated off from the floor instead of its own room.
The bonuses and 'perks' are attempts to make up for low pay compared to competitors. Weirdly enough, they give out gift cards from companies they consider competitors during regular drawings. Education won't necessarily get you anywhere here, according to managers. HR isn't always in charge of promotion and sometimes holds meetings for positions they can't hire for just to look transparent. It has apparently happened a few times now based on what people who work there will tell you. Brown-nosing and loyalty will get you a lot further here than hard work, which is why nearly everytime someone is chosen for 'Employee of the Moment' how friendly they are with managers or how long they've worked at Sherpack are the main points brought up. Also, they don't really care about disabilities and will tell you documentation is not a big deal until you get a meeting with HR over things.
