Pros

Nothing. Predatory recruiting tactics, they were terrible.

Cons

There's a reason that they always have open positions. They drive out any talent that they have with their awful Micromanagement

So much potential, but just bad.

Pros

I got to work with some very talented therapists, but most of them have left now. They had a very good time off/benefits package, but I felt bad to use it, even when school wasn't in session.

Cons

So many. Micromanagement is RAMPANT. I have never felt so out of control or had so many people in charge of me in made up positions of leadership (that no one really understands). Management was not very supportive if you come to them with a concern or questions, and then you have essentially targeted yourself to get pushed out the door. It was the lowest rate of pay I have ever had, but I took it since they pitch such a positive, client centered work environment and I was excited to be a part of a team like that. Joke was on me. I feel so bad for new grads who don't know any better and think a workplace should just be like this. There's a reason they have so many CF's and why they are always hiring. It's a revolving door. I mean, there's so many more things, but you get the idea.

Pros

Fellow therapists are kind and welcoming (although you are alone typically at the school you serve). Additionally, there are some truly knowledgeable and wonderful CF supervisors. I work with great school staff (that work directly for the districts that Sidekick is serving) who I love to collaborate with.

Cons

This company prides themselves in stating how much they “care about their employees” however all of their actions prove otherwise. Therapists (the ones who line their pockets) clearly do not matter at all to this company. They do not want good therapist, they just want numbers. They time and time again show how they care about themselves and money over what is best for the clients we serve. The job description that was sold in the interview process to numerous employees is vastly different from the actual job and expectations. Policies, job description, and duties were constantly added/changed after the contract was signed. Management has yet to take ownership for their errors/miscommunications/mistreatment. They are manipulative. They turn everything around and tell you it was your fault and make it seem like you are doing something wrong rather than apologizing for communication errors on their end. Extremely rigid expectations/hypercritical. I feel that I have less freedom as a therapist than I did when I was in graduate school. I am consistently micromanaged, this is NOT a laid back place to work. I HIGHLY CAUTION NEW GRADS: they offer a really appealing job in the interview and then do not follow through on their word. If you work here, get everything they say in writing because they are constantly going back on their word. They prey on CFs fresh out of graduate school with predatory recruiting tactics and misleading advertising. Multiple CF employees were promised an 8-10% raise after one year, but were instead met with no raise at all or pay cuts. Not only was the raise not provided but they blamed their therapists for not being “productive enough” as the reason for the pay cuts/no raise. Many factors that are entirely out of the therapists role affect productivity. Higher ups have been telling multiple employees that they cannot discuss their salary with each other, which is illegal (check the National Labor Relations Act). They claim they don't have enough money to adequately pay their therapists but they have enough money to have fancy and expensive holiday parties, hire multiple tech employees to create new systems, and pay people to micromanage and STALK therapists notes/calendar to tell you your notes are wrong. Higher ups show no desire to change their ways or grow. Higher ups are not held accountable for mistakes. I would never recommend this job to another SLP. There is a reason for the extremely high turnover rate.
