Pros

Weekly Paycheck my hours were 6-2:30 PM salary

Cons

Tons of Over Time and I was salary..not recognized or rewarded Poor Micro Management from Owners that are in way over their heads on day to day operations Owners will not allow any input into future growth and will only hire weak candidates that they can control...even if it costs them money They are comfortable cursing and being sexist around anyone There is no review process thus no growth opportunity for non-union workers No mentor's or training just sink or swim Training is done by sitting in front of computer watching videos once signed off your ready NO ACCOUNTABILITY...unless you are old school friends or a relative with Owners you can get away with whatever you like If you are a professional in any shape or form do no waste your time with this company.. ABANDON ALL HOPE NO OPEN DOOR POLICY...If you have an issue with the General Manger the Owners will literally tell you need to handle it there because THERE IS NO OTHER ENTITY BESIDES OWNERS They have no structure (HR) There is no coincidence that their other locations are all IN THE SOUTH (MS,AL, etc.) This company is a huge money pit and if wasting money is your thing you will love it Unethical and immoral individuals flourish here All systems in place are archaic and behind the times They will use equipment that is unsafe and outdated to try and get there money's worth regardless of the liability The Owners do all the hiring and are horrible at it Last but not least in all my 30 years of professional Materials & Logistic experience have I ever witnessed the complete lack of communication of a small company with individuals sitting right next to each other completely unaware of important projects, timelines, emails and the list never stops. Complete Professional Embarrassment

It is clear from the above list that you did not feel that your contribution was valued at SilMan. I am sorry that we do not have the opportunity to resolve our misunderstandings. However, your feedback is appreciated and we take every bit of it seriously. SilMan is continuously improving our onboarding process and intra-company communications so that all team members understand our commitment to their well-being. These efforts include monthly all-team, real-time meetings, training opportunities and ongoing feedback in place of “annual” reviews (i.e.; continuous improvement). The loyalty we enjoy from team members across the country reflects the success of these two-way relationships between the company and individuals. In regard to women and gender equality: your observations do not correspond with the realities in the company. We take great pride in the diversity that we have within high-responsibility areas, including engineering and project management. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences. We wish you well in your new opportunities.
