The worst place I have ever worked for - ever

Pros

The morning teas every month. Some really great cakes.

Cons

This is by far the most toxic place I have ever worked for. I was bullied and made to feel incompetent. Leadership team is the worst I have ever experienced. There is a blame culture, micromanagement, people are promoted because of who they know and how loud they scream. Bullying is encouraged and they just work people until they get fed up and leave. No recognition at all. Everything is just swept underneath the carpet.

One word: Disappointing

Pros

Staff incentives: monthly massages, stocked kitchen, welcome afternoon teas, birthday celebrations, Friday afternoon drinks, staff lunches, Christmas celebrations and end of financial year gatherings

Cons

Unfortunately there is lack of communication within the business and those who are affected by changes happening within the company are kept in the dark. The “core values” that are held in such high regard are not adhered to by upper management. Progression is preached however it’s a case of “not what you know, it’s who you know.” The HR department or should I say, lack of HR department have the tendency to sweep things under the rug in hope that it will disappear. The recent redundancies that occurred within the GoGetta brand were handled extremely poorly and the message out to the wider business/ shareholders about having as many staff “redeployed” as possible was an utter lie.

Pros

First day culture lots of talk re free lunches massages casual Friday and Friday drinks. Great at welcoming new staff with signs and afternoon teas however not so great after day 1 at keeping this up. Some lovely people though.

Cons

Boys club management with little communication to staff re direction. Too many decisions being allowed to be made at lower management areas with poor or unskilled team leaders/ business leaders. Lack of openness re policies (if they exist) or follow through. Too many emails, too many meetings without purpose, too many chiefs not enough Indians. No transparency re pays/authority levels (ie if applying for another role it may be lower than your current one), tl's/SMEs being taken off their roles yet paid their former pay. No backfilling or pay for higher duties. A lot of our purpose is purely to get the Bcorp tick rather than management believing in it. Would we be pushing volunteer days if it wasn't part of the accreditation?
