Pros

- Nice working environment with air purifiers, and pool table - Unlimited coffee supply to help you cope with heavy workload and pressure - Sport activities - Nice and professional colleagues

Cons

- China culture and doesn’t pay OT or give any compensation - Unlimited meeting, minimal 4 meetings per sprint which span about 2 weeks, but usually 5 to 6 meetings per sprint - Employed China Project Owner who doesn’t speak or understand English, but working with English-speaking client, which leads to constantly changing requirements due to misunderstanding between Project Owner and Client - Weird performance evaluation with no proper guideline on rank promotion. You could be good but if your project doesn’t profit, you’re not allowed to get top rank - Always look for quick solution instead of long term solution, which leads to repetitive work - Employees are not allowed to chat in the office - With pool table, but not allowed to play during working hours, even you have nothing to do - Frequent change of company policy, and implement it overnight without proper notice

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your thoughts and would like to clarify a few key areas to ensure better understanding of our practices and culture. 1. Overtime (OT) & Replacement Leave In line with the Malaysian Employment Act 1955, employees earning RM4,000 and above are not eligible for monetary OT payments. We provide replacement leave instead, once approved by your lead and the COO via email. This is then credited in the following month. Since last year, we’ve also reduced the frequency of OT, with such assignments only made when truly required, based on project urgency and approved by Technical Leads or People Managers. 2. Hybrid Work & Flexibility We offer a hybrid working arrangement—3 days in-office, 2 days remote—paired with flexible working hours. Employees are trusted to manage their own time while ensuring tasks are completed and goals are met. 3. Company Culture & Micromanagement We do not practice micromanagement or require clock-in/clock-out. As long as employees complete 8 working hours and meet expectations, flexibility is respected. Leads remain aware of task progress and team capacity to ensure smooth delivery without unnecessary oversight. 4. Policy Updates & Communication Several policies—including benefits, IT, bonus, and OT—have been updated since last year. These were officially communicated via email and during the year-end hybrid townhall, where employees had the opportunity to ask questions, especially around bonus and OT structures. We continue to maintain an open-door policy, with senior leadership available for direct discussion. 5. Office Facilities To maintain a productive atmosphere in our open office layout, the 3-in-1 pool table and other facilities are available for use during lunch or after working hours, to avoid disrupting nearby colleagues. 6. Meetings & Collaboration We apply the scrum methodology to all project-based work, which includes regular check-ins. These meetings help teams align and also encourage open sharing of ideas and ways to improve collaboration. 7. Career Development We encourage proactive career conversations during mid-year and year-end reviews, where team members can discuss promotion criteria, personal goals, and development opportunities with their leads. 8. Communication Across Teams We value diversity and inclusion. While English is our main working language, Chinese may be used in some projects. We are mindful of differences in language and culture and are always working to improve communication across teams. Thank you again for your input and for being part of our journey. Feedback like yours helps us grow and continuously improve the employee experience. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
