40 years is a long time to not have it right

Pros

Some leaders, like Vasa are good to work for. Some of my team are good people to work with. The Christmas party is pretty cool. The HR team is a good to work with.

Cons

I remember when I started they told me the company was like 40 years old so I was expecting a well oiled machine but then I started and it was like a raggedy rust bucket that was still running with a lot of work still needed. It has the challenges a family owned business runs into, hiring family at the top and expecting it to be a great company. They did bring in some outside help like our COO, CFO, director of customer service, HR, and some accounting leaders that are doing their best to get the company running to it's full potential. We had a great trainer and supervisor that left a couple years ago but we're still in business. Now working from home has other challenges that our leaders are not ready to lead through computers only and that's evident in the morale that we feel as a team.

Pros

They have pretty good benefits, however the new HSA is rather complex and confusing. This is a 9 to 5 job, never have to work late, which is nice.

Cons

Management seem pretty detached from what goes on in customer support. There is constant tension with other departments, especially accounting, and no one seems to care what happens in customer service. If you join this team you occasionally have to deal with angry, yelling customers, so be advised. Pay is below almost any other customer service job in the valley so most people don't stay very long here.

Pros

Hard to find many positive things to say. This is a small company with very few options. Best Pro would be the option for 3 months paternity leave if you have a baby.

Cons

The company is owned by a family of salespeople that only want to drain the company of money for expensive cars and big houses. No raises in two years was explained due to lack of sales and profits, but both were up over that time frame. You will be ignored until there is a problem, then everyone will hound you.
