Micromanagement in the Worst Way

Cons

help desk manager breaths over your neck while you try to do anything. Although it was not my first IT job, I was treated like a high school child. I was specifically told not to fix anything without asking first. There is only one manager and 10 technicians. We are taking 40 calls a day. It is unreasonable to have to ask a manager before fixing anything on every call. Job can be done remotely but you are asked to come into the office to be babysat. All of the desks are in a very small room with no cubicles. The workload is unfairly large and hard to deal with when being micromanaged.

Pros

- Management is accommodating and friendly. - Fantastic work culture. - Helpful and personable coworkers. - Hands on paid training. - Overtime opportunities. - Break room is stocked with snacks. - Plenty of documentation on how to fix common issues. - An hour lunch, and two 15 minute breaks a day for full time employees. - Certification reimbursement. - Small enough to casually talk to the CEO, large enough to be well organized.

- little to no wfh opportunities unless necessary.
