Not the place I thought it was

Pros

Very kind and considerate coworkers.

Cons

Slipstream markets itself as mission-driven, but the reality feels very different once you're inside. The focus appears to be more on revenue to support high executive billing rates than on meaningfully helping the people Slipstream claims to serve. Leadership seems disconnected from day-to-day operations and the concerns of staff, and turnover has been consistently high during my time here. Many talented people have left, which says a lot. If you're seeking a place genuinely dedicated to climate equity, I would encourage you to look carefully and consider other options.

Pros

• Dedicated, capable individual contributors who routinely absorb the impact of poor leadership decisions • Employees tend to support one another in the absence of effective executive guidance • The organization frequently promotes values and feedback in messaging, even if follow through is lacking

Cons

• Executive leadership lacks vision, consistency, and accountability • Priorities shift constantly without strategy or adequate communication, leading to confusion and wasted effort • Decisions are made top down with little understanding of operational realities • Clear disconnect between stated values and actual executive behavior • Burnout, disengagement, and ongoing attrition, amplified by layoffs and poor change management • The Board of Directors is disengaged, repeatedly looking the other way rather than holding leadership accountable or addressing well known organizational challenges

High turnover triggered by poor leadership

Pros

Good mission and kind co-workers.

Cons

I’m sad to see Slipstream lose key contracts and subsequently lose good people through layoffs and resignations. Morale on my team has never been lower, and I know many are seeking new jobs. In all my years here, I’ve never seen such poor leadership. Employees want to do good work and support the mission, but Slipstream’s lack of strategic direction is ruining this company.
