      Two-faced company

      Pros

      Intelligent employees, fun sociable environment, provide lunch every week and snacks throughout work, free gym membership.

      Cons

      Management and team leaders are the most two-faced, gutless, backstabbing people I have ever worked for! They'll be nice and friendly to your face, they won't give you any criticism or negative feedback on where improvements can be made giving you the impression that the work you're doing is up to their standards. Then completely out of the blue they'll get rid of you without any warnings, performance feedback or anything! Their so-called company core values sound great but they don't live up to these values at all.

      At least at the beginning they try to play nice

      can you image they have 0 line of unit test. Managers are 2 faces depends on if you're his man or not.

      Toxic mess of a workplace, don't fall for it

      Pros

      I have had the opportunity to meet some really capable, like minded talent who had worked at the company. This experience gave me a lot of insight into how a company shouldn't be run and further validates that culture, especially coming from the top down, is crucial to the success of a business.

      Cons

      At first you might think this is too good to be true - freebies, allowances, lovely chats with you to your face, an illusion of an "inclusive" workplace under the guise of all the workplace awards, lots of very experienced staff... Then you realise that a big proportion of the staff that have been there for more than 2 years have been more or less at this company for 10-20 years straight and have no clue how to do agile because they've never worked anywhere else. The technology is abysmal to work on, and I feel so bad for a few really talented individuals who seem like they're being held hostage in this toxic environment. Culture, vision, strategy and leadership is non-existent. Constant restructures on a whim without proper change management, and there is literally no direction. On paper, this is a great company to work for and that's what I thought. Red flags - didn't get reference checked before I got the offer, gossip and blame culture, poor communication internally from execs, and lays off employees casually without giving any thought to long term costs and return. Hard miss.
