Pros

Smore is a wonderful place to work for a number of reasons. From the employee wellbeing standpoint, Smore has you covered. Whether it's equipment, professional learning opportunities, or 1:1 support, Smore makes sure their employees are taken care of. On that same note, sharing ideas and feedback is always welcomed at Smore. No idea is unimportant, and you are encouraged to speak up, (an actual Smore value). Additionally, Smore prioritizes putting in good work over the hours spent doing that work which is really refreshing in the hi-tech world. Finally, the PEOPLE! Smore places a tremendous effort on attracting the right types of talent, and it shows. Everyone who works at Smore is as passionate about their work as they are about their out-of-work interests, which makes for great conversation and interesting people. They are also kind, enthusiastic, and proud to be a part of such a great place!

Cons

Smore is a growing startup so some processes are still being established. Sometimes it's challenging to have to create these things from scratch, but it is also a huge opportunity for learning.

Pros

Regardless of your position at Smore, your ideas are always appreciated. Whether it is through a Slack channel or an all-hands meeting, you are encouraged to collaborate and offer your insights. Smore puts a tremendous effort on work/life balance. The hours are great, and there is a lot of flexibility with sick days and vacation time. Management also understands the need for compensating hard work, and that is shown in generous salaries and benefits.

Cons

Smore is a startup, and like many startups, projects are prioritized by urgency, so sometimes things may come up that force you to put your current project on the back burner until the more urgent project is attended to.

Pros

I've only been with Smore for the last four months or so, and I really do love it. The company promotes team-work, and you do feel valued as a member. The team itself is easy-going, hard-working, down-to-earth, and friendly. This is one of the only jobs I've had that takes the work/life balance seriously. The hours are great, and management trusts that you are going to get your work done, so they are a bit more flexible with vacation and sick days. Management is generous with salaries, and you can see that they respect their employees' time, ideas, and experience. There are plenty of opportunities to move up in the company as well. Management holds multiple meetings with staff to make sure that everyone is in the loop. They also plan frequent one-on-one meetings to hear your ideas, and to make sure that you are happy and thriving within the company.

Cons

Smore is a start-up, so sometimes policies or operations can change day-to-day. On the other hand, it can take a bit long to implement company policies or changes to the product.
