Pros
Generally relaxed working environment outside of game development teams. Decent pay outside of game development teams. Salary reviews once a year, and salary can advance quickly. Some interesting projects to work on.
Cons
No cohesive development methodology. Most of your work will be maintenance of existing technology. Management can be abusive and slow to improve. Game developers work a lot of overtime, and are not paid well. Games are just contract work, mostly rehashing titles as mobile games. 45 hours work weeks by default, resistant to remote work, and no overtime pay.
