Pros

* Loads of resources and Money that enables the company to spend so much on anything * Technology is quite fresh and new which enables personal growth

Cons

* Pyramid shaped structures with super old school management * Severe lack of understanding to dealing with topics like racism and sexism * Severe lack of transparency, feels like working for a dictatorship any opinion or criticism is considered a very big deal. For example, a person suggesting on slack that the HR should give the new joiners fruits instead of sweets as it's a more healthy alternatives caused a massive issue in the company to the extent that the CEO had to interfere * One of the funny things I heard before leaving, that they were faking positive knunu and glassdoor reviews :D In a nutshell, the company resembles a perfect example of startups who act like 100 years old corporates

Pros

- You are able to work yourself into the ground - Sick? Who cares, come to work anyway! - Standard startup freebies - kissing the ring gets you far!

Cons

- Most political place I have ever worked - Favoritism at the highest level - Racist jokes with no care to the audience - Documented (and swept under the rug) sexual harassment - Insane workplace completely packed with people, no German workplace law followed here! --- Do not work here. They make managers out of completely inept people, no empathy in the upper levels at all. If you are a woman and go out on sick leave you are not given German law position back after; as soon as they know you are removed of any previous responsibility. Good people with heart are worked into the ground or into heart attacks or pushed out. WFH policy is there but they do not trust the workers to actually WFH. You are lucky to have the same responsibilities when you come back from a 1 week vacation, let alone the direction of the company staying straight for more than 4 months at a time. Partners are treated horribly and I guess what BaFin does not care to look into will not hurt them tho it should. If you want Fintech there are tons of other options. Don't consider this one and if you do I will wait to say I told you so after.

Thanks for sharing. We are sad to read such a review after you have been with the company for over 3 years. We of course would have been very much interested in a direct dialogue about your concerns, for example in the weekly People and Organization facetime hour or our anonymous complaints channel. In case you would still like to discuss your concerns at this point in time, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via pando@solarisbank.de.

Pros

Free drinks Ping Pong table (that you will not use because you are getting micromanaged and management only cares about work) Free Yoga and German classes (you won't participate due to the amount of work that needs to be done)

Cons

People constantly on sick leave You are paid to work 40 hours but people are working 50 - 60 hours as they are afraid to get fired if they don't manage to finish their tasks Cold-hearted, greedy, selfish management who only cares about getting more money without taking care of their employees It's end of March and lots of people have already reassigned or being kicked out One of the members of the board was forced to leave the company beginning of the year Another employee was kicked out without notice period (he was told to leave all sB belongings and leave the building). Though he was over a year in the company solarisBank treated him like a criminal. No one really understood why he was fired as he was liked by his colleagues and did a good job. Now there are a lot of rumors and people are scared to be the next person being "managed out" If you are a women be prepared that you will be exposed to sexist jokes no matter how much effort you put in your job. It's very usual that people comment behind your back that you were just hired because of your look Unhappy customers and no one cares to improve the customer's satisfaction The current Google reviews of sB are 2.5* and they would be even lower if employees wouldn't give 5* reviews (Please note that this falls under the Conflict of Interest section of Google's review policies and is not allowed). All member of the board are Germans (also high positions are reserved to them) HR (or P and O how they call themselves) are aware of bullying behavior and are just ignoring it Surveys are not anonymous. If you leave a bad review in a survey you will be fired. This already happened!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience. Culture and people do matter to us at solarisBank. We are dedicated to creating a good and safe work environment for all employees. That is why we drive different formats to foster exchange between all solarians including e.g. our fortnightly, company-wide Broadcast events as well as Ask Me Anything Sessions with our CEO. In addition to that we have regular, anonymous Pulse Check surveys with all the company as well as 360° feedbacks for the single employees. Of course, we also offer People and Organization facetime hours where feedback can be shared and anonymous ways for whistle blowing are established as well. Our employees do use these channels and contribute with an open exchange. The established formats also helped us in the past to identify topics where we needed to improve. We would appreciate if you could get in touch with us to get a better understanding of your experiences. Please do reach out to us via pando@solarisbank.de.
