Not great for growth. No respect for tech positions.
Pros
Family company mentality and flexibility (if they like you) Good place for experience (they will throw a lot of work at you and you will have to be fast and responsive to change) Most people are truly great individuals (would grab a beer with them any day)
Cons
No career growth opportunity (especially in tech related positions) Long hours Highly demanding workload No clear list of job responsibilities or management hierarchy You will have to fight tooth and nail for the smallest of wage increases (negotiate high upfront) Managers will swap from micromanaging employees to giving no direction for months (or years...) Management will steal employee success and represent work as their own while simultaneously blaming others for project failures. No incentive to perform above and beyond. Your achievements will not be yours and you will not be acknowledged for them
