Pros

Decent benefit plan, others to commiserate with how terrible of a place this is to work.....

Cons

The ownership/management cares nothing for the people in the trenches actually doing the work they get paid for. Dene acts like a little dictator, and Tripp can't seem to do anything without him.

I am sorry to hear that you are not enjoying working at SIU, and you feel that the Mgt/ Owners do not appreciate your efforts day in & day out. Please know that is not the case and we will continue to work on ways to show our appreciation. We are all working hard to create an environment that we all enjoy and can be proud of at the end of the day. My door is always open and I openly welcome any ideas on how to take SIU go from "Good to Great". It is a group effort. Dene, John & I do work closely together, and with all of the opportunities that we are looking to create, growing our company into other territories , and continually improving upon all that we do...it take a team. Thank you for your comment, and I hope that we can work together to improve your overall experience at SIU! -Tripp

Pros

They will hire just about anybody so if you are in need of a job, you can probably get hired to do something if you show a positive attitude.

Cons

There is a "Us" and "Them" attitude that is so pervasive I doubt it will ever change. There is very little respect shown for the employees as human beings. The executives even have a separate Christmas party. The employees get a little gathering in the lobby with a very small monetary "thank you". The pay is very low and below market rates so don't expect much on the paycheck. They complain if you take all the vacation time you've collected even though they make that a benefit. The worst is they don't even give you a personal dismissal or a reason. I know one case where they called someone over the phone after they left work and told them not to come back. It is an extremely unprofessional environment and you are not allowed to disagree with the executives on any topic. You work hard and get no thanks and little money.

Pros

Nice fellow employees when they stayed.

Cons

My recruiter told me this can be a difficult place to work. That should have been my first sign. The workload was extremely heavy, the moral of my fellow employees was horrible. Most of the people I worked with were constantly looking for another job and it seemed like people were constantly leaving and not happy. At first I did not understand but it didn’t take long. My work load doubled and I didn’t get any help and management did not care. The higher ups didn’t seem to care and it was just a revolving door of people. I could not take it anymore.

Thank you for your review. We very much recognized the turnover we had a few years back, and since then have taken proactive measures restructure the office to enhance the employee's ability to excel within SIU. Creating more opportunities and a clearer path for advancement/growth. We have also made vast improvements in our technology solely focusing on workflow efficiencies; as well as, utilizing outside resources to address heavy workflows within different departments. I am sorry that you felt like the Mgt did not care or recognize the heavy workload you had. We truly do care and were aware of the workloads, but the solutions took time. We are all in this together, and we always try to work as a team to improve upon everything we do here at SIU!
