Pros

It was a good place to work until the owner got involved in shady things and mismanaged money.

Cons

Toxic masculinity and ego-trips. Not getting paid on time, being told to lie to customers about what their money is being used for (not their project). Just stay away from this place and save yourself the frustration.

Pros

Good wages, but don't expect to be able to cash your check. The other employees were great though.

Cons

Unreliable paychecks. Management was paying some people's car payments, but checks were basically just pieces of paper. Constant customer complaints, whether it be about shoddy workmanship, not being on schedule, subcontractors not performing up to par or at all (because they also weren't getting paid), return deposit checks bouncing (so many!), etc. I've also found out recently that steel was being used when people requested and paid for aluminium roofing. I know of one customers' home that was basically left open to the elements for a long period of time due to Southers' inability to purchase materials and pay their subcontractors. Money from customer deposits was just going to cover older jobs, and not toward the job it was supposed to be paying for. Do yourself a favor and have nothing to do with this company as an employee, a subcontractor, a vendor, or a customer.

Pros

Once upon a time it was a great place to work. There was care and understanding and support and encouragement. You got to learn new things and feel part of a team. But things went downhill very fast and in the end, there aren't really any pros except for all the other passengers on this sinking boat.

Cons

You never get a steady paycheck. It's a toss-up on when you will be able to cash your check, when you will actually be given a check, etc. You try like hell to do your job, but there's never any money available to buy materials or complete a job. So angry customers call in non-stop asking questions that you're unable to answer because you have no idea when things will get better. But upper management is so delusional and lie to everyone that things will get better but they never do. They are so disorganized and have no idea what they are doing.
