Pros

Extremely knowledgeable in the field of ABA and very passionate about their clients. The company provides strong training and hands-on experience—if you’re interested in becoming a skilled behavior technician, you’ll learn a lot and gain valuable practical knowledge.

Cons

The atmosphere at Spark often felt cliquey, more reminiscent of high school or Greek life than a professional environment. In my later years with the company, leadership transitioned to a younger and less experienced team, which contributed to inconsistent management and a lack of professional boundaries. While Spark promotes inclusion for its clients, that value is not consistently reflected among staff. Gossip and favoritism were common, and conflicts were not always handled fairly or investigated thoroughly. Leadership tended to favor those who fit into the “Spark way,” and constructive feedback was not always well-received—especially when it addressed management’s own actions. Ultimately, I decided to move on when it became clear there was limited opportunity for professional growth and that the work environment was negatively impacting my well-being. Since leaving, I’ve found a healthier and more supportive team where my contributions are valued and growth is encouraged. By the looks of the reviews since I left, it appears not much has changed yet.

Pros

There is nothing could about this company.

Cons

In 15 years in the is field I have never been a clinic as cliquey as this one. The 3 directors constantly talk negativity in a non-constructive and unprofessional manor regarding all staff that are not part of there group. Furthermore, they frequently make extremely harsh or overly corrective remarks especially if one the directors is having a harder day. If you try to address any concerns to HR they will claim it was a misunderstanding, however if anyone makes a complaint to HR regarding you it will instantly be treated as fact regardless of the circumstances and even if proven to be false. Furthmore the directors and leadership team engage in high amounts of retaliation. If any of the directors or leadership team has an issue with you they will look and activity ask others to look for things you are doing wrong. I was specifically asked to watch particular technician on a day to help get more evidence to try to get them fired. The BCBA treat all BCaBA's like the know absolutely nothing and if handle situations differently they will provide intense corrective feedback regardless if your approach is effective and complies with the code of ethics. Furthermore, technicians that are close with the Directors will constantly report treatment plans, BIP, and anything that they do not like regardless of compliance with the code of ethics and effectiveness. Additionally, the Directors have created an environment that violates the ethics codes treating regarding treating supervisees respectfully and facilitating an honest environment. Lastly the Directors have unrealistic expectations with regarding to any task the give. The Directors expect you to drop everything you are doing to help on there client's regardless of how many programs, plans, reports, etc you need to work on for your clients.

Pros

There are none - horrible pay, awful leadership and terrible culture

Cons

If you work here prepare to be overworked, a hostile work environment including gossip, favoritism, isolation, and sexism, with unrealistic time frames to complete tasks (I've been told by my direct supervisor that their time is more valuable than mine), as well as being required to complete tasks outside of work.
