Pros

- exemplary sanitation and cleanliness standards

Cons

-equipment not kept up to high priced expectations -certain locations are better than others -the actual owner believes every employee is just money in his pocket and that they can be easily replaced -lunches/breaks are taken off by head office EVEN if you haven't had a chance to even eat within 8+ hours -staff are belittled and ganged up on by management and senior staff -It's commissioned based so if you actually want to make a decent living, you need to rip off customers by rushing services, charging extras for things that aren't, with spa equipment that doesn't work properly -You are not allowed to have a complaint or you will be made to feel like you're not qualified to even drink water - Nothing in place to motivate or recognize staff - I've heard management (who are only certified in esthetics ) tell journeyman hairdressers how to do Hair and salon stuff. (Not knowing what they're talking about)

Pros

Great clients Great co workers Thats literally the only good things about this place

Cons

You will never be paid what you expect. You can keep track of your clocked in hours and minus off any break you took but they will automatically deduct breaks you didnt take, you pay stub will never match what you actually worked. I was continually paid $1 less than stated on the contract and had the manager notify them every paycheck to have it fixed and they refuse to fix it or so much as respond unless you show up in person. The owner blames the manager at the time for false advertisement to hire me at the hourly rate on the contract. He spreads rumors about previous employees and talks horribly about them. He blames everyone but himself for any exsisting problems within the company and takes zero responsibility. From the other reviews on this site they likely will never change. Half the services on the service menus are not offered at all locations. They book couples massages at this location without informing the clients that there isnt in fact a couples massage room and they will be in seperate rooms and pay as if it was an actual couples massage. The cleanliness, faulty equipment and intallation of equipment is a joke unless of course you dont mind drying the same load of laundry for 6 hours, easy money i suppose. Dont devalue yourself by working for these people, you will make better money and be happier literally anywhere else, even mcdonalds.

Pros

i honestly can't think of any. it was that bad.

Cons

where do i start? i was hired as a full time esthetician at whyte. i was straight out of school and didn't have clientele. they promised me i would definitely build it there. little did i know that they maybe had 5 clients a day, salon and spa combined, unless there was a pedicure party. even in the interview i felt sketched out. the owner asked me a lot of personal questions like my marital status etc. he worded it as "do you have a man taking care of you at home?" despite being hired FULL TIME i would get sent home or told not to come in probably 3/5 shifts a week, sometimes more. management was non existent and we went through receptionists and managers so frequently. no real training. no real adherence to health and safety or sanitation. i never saw any disinfectants. equipment is out of date and often broken, products are expired, and the prices are absurd. mostly everyone just sat around doing nothing and playing on their phones, but only in areas w/o cameras because otherwise the owner would get us in trouble from head office because he just sits there and watches everyone. did i mention that the salon often did not have anyone other than apprentice hairstylists which is illegal? they take an hour off your wages every shift to account for your lunch regardless of whether you have time to take it or not. one of my coworkers was an older woman who was clearly the owner's favourite. she would yell at other staff, sometimes in arabic and sometimes in english, where clients could very clearly hear her, including her own clients. clients AND staff complained about her but she never got in trouble, even when clients complained about her giving poor services (the one i saw had gotten cut during a manicure with her and got sloppy nail polish application). she would bully all the other staff into doing cleaning for her too and blame her messes on them. the last straw for me was being told by the owner in front of EVERYONE ELSE at a staff meeting that i was not doing well and wasn't making him money and wasn't bringing in clients, when i had told him from the get go that i had no clients!!! do not work here. do not get services here. just stay far far far away.
