Pros

They like to spend a ton of company money on parties (which are nice *if* you're invited), food bribes for mandatory overtime days, and their own beer (despite no connection to marketing or the optical/sport industry).

Cons

Middle- and upper-management are truly terrible at managing. They have no clue how to lead, instruct, confront, or empathize with employees. You will frequently hear them talking poorly about employees, but they're so scared of confrontation, that they will never address issues directly in order to work toward solving the problem. Their best attempt at motivation is telling everyone that they need to "step it up" while they toss you a troubled website and are completely clueless of your endless overtime hours. It's widely known that you can arbitrarily be put on the "bad list" for gossip that management heard but will never address it. Every month they try to say the company is doing better than ever, but then they rescind promised raises and advancement, citing a strict budget. They love getting a good deal on employees by setting them to fixed salaries and promising pathetic sales perks. Not only will they never give you a raise -- you will never be able add enough commission to justify the horrendous amount of overtime you'll need to work since they understaff the OPTICAL side of the company. Marketing is the top priority of this company. They pour endless effort into videos and embarrassing Facebook live events, but it takes months for them to accept any improvements on the opticians side. Much of that is pushback from middle-management who are determined to keep you down. They'll actively ignore emails and suggestions for improvement. If you seem too eager, they'll shut you out completely.

Pros

Sometimes free food. Free branded apparel, free pair of glasses. Social events. Casual dress code.

Cons

Noncompetitive pay, inconsistent schedules, favoritism, conflicts of interest, cliquey atmosphere, "bro" mentality, absent senior management, dismissive and even retaliatory middle management, inability to use PTO, lack of transparency, lets clients believe inflated revenue numbers, poor system infrastructure, ridiculous expectations, outsourced "HR" helps the company let go of anyone with dissenting opinions.

Pros

None. None. None. None. None.

Cons

These people claim they are a great place to work and are nice people, but they are not. It’s all a front. All they care about is money and treating people with respect and dignity comes much further down the list.
