Pros

As a tutor it was relaxing as I can teach using my own methods and own resources

Cons

Rather bad working hours into the nights on weekdays and on both weekends. Can only take leave within a fixed period every year, which is very inflexible. HR is very unprofessional and can be biased. Company very unsympathetic when I took MC after getting dengue fever and because of that did not give me any year end bonus. Zero health/insurance benefits. Will be questioned when taking MC. Not given a recontract just because I was pregnant and they did not want to pay for my maternity leave. Cheap and lousy company to work at.

Pros

Good pay package (Basic pay plus commission) Rigorous and thorough training programme for returning workers Staff appreciation after 2 years of employment Relatively relaxed deskjob during off peak periods Extremely stable job Friendly middle managers Almost non-existent office politics Certain degree of job autonomy

Cons

Minimal annual increments Low annual bonus Alternating shift work that may stretch late into the night Minimal social life Many administrative procedures which requires high conscientiousness Requires high emotional quotient in dealing with difficult customers Not for untidy / inconsistent / non-routine employees

Pros

- Helpful staff members - Off-peak days are easy, not much to do - If you love calling and talking on the phone, this job is for you. - They will let you manage a centre on your own if they think you are capable.

Cons

- 1 off day, 6 working days - Basic pay + commission, though there is rarely any OT, so pay is low - Talking to management gave me anxiety because of how rude and nasty they can get (especially one person from office) - Be careful and think twice if you want this job. Once you join, have to fully commit. If you choose to resign halfway, be prepared to serve 2 months and fork up one month salary to compensate (this company finds ways to suck people's money, from both staff and parents). - SOP is all over the place. They will also gladly accept different level students not stated in their price list. This causes problems for us CSO to manage the class. - A lot of troubleshooting to do, parents and teachers can ask very weird questions that you need to ownself fix. - It's stressful working here because every day you need to prepare yourself to fix issues.
