Pros

- Product is genuinely loved and appreciated by majority of clients. - Fast growing industry with lots of opportunity - Development team is very efficient and requests are addressed quickly - People are helpful when they have enough understanding - Very positive environment with reasonable expectations - Compensation is competitive and fair - Unlimited holiday with encouragement to use instead of pressure to work - Fully remote work environment

Cons

- Very little sense of internal community if at all between or within teams - The company has grown very rapidly post mid-2021 acquisition (3x headcount) and expectations are somewhat ill defined. A lot of people seem unsure where role begins and ends trying to avoid toe stepping. - A lot of change is planned with uncertain timelines so process is fluid -Minimal corroboration or communication between teams makes people feel like more an individual contributor and not part of a company. - As so many people in key positions are new large gaps in knowledge can exist. Smaller number of original people fielding majority of questions/requests creates backlog. Overall the good aspects far outweigh the bad. Most concerns are to be expected when a company has grown this rapidly. 2022 will be a defining year if these will be worked out or turn genuinely problematic.

Pros

- Fully remote company - Small company means it is easy to have visible impact

Cons

- New leadership came in, fired existing leadership and laid off 40% of the company, 80% of which was in the eng department. This was done without an understanding of the technical space and so now they're drowning in issues they didn't know existed. - Fixing fundamental problems was put off for years already and is now becoming an insurmountable issue. - Leadership is more focused on drinking the AI-is-everything kool-aid than fixing real problems for existing customers while not having the ability to add worthwhile new features to the existing dumpster fire of a code base. - When things hit the fan engineering (which somehow was viewed by the rest of the company as "in charge") got blamed for everything despite them fighting for years to be given the opportunity to fix critical legacy issues that severely impacted the ability to deliver new value.
