Poor Management

Pros

Nice to work for an organisation that helps, nice colleagues

Cons

Poor Senior Management - a clear divide between management and staff with no sense of unity, friendliness or support, a sense of everyone 'putting up with' working conditions, unclear communication, micro-management Lost Confidence - I lost a lot of confidence; I was let go for being one of the people to voice concerns about staff morale and management...(despite being told my work/performance was excellent) Very low staff morale - a lot of unhappiness within staff teams, made suggestions for improvements but these were not employed Very little progression opportunity - kept on taking on more responsibility but was told there would unlikely be anywhere for me to go

Such a shame

Pros

Felt like you were making a difference in the lives of vulnerable people, fantastic colleagues to work with, and there used to be strong links with other charitable organisations around the country.

Cons

Charity merged with another company and prompted a change of CEO and management. After this point all of the heart, soul and history left the business. Staff were encouraged to 'cherry pick' the clients most likely to achieve outcomes rather than the ones who would benefit most from our help. Poor management, no communication, loss of company identity all led to a massive downturn in morale.

Pros

Pre 2015: The best people to work with from the top to bottom Had a fantastic ethos Good rewards both financially and work-wise. Merged with another charity mid 2015

Cons

When 'merged' with another company things went downhill very quickly. Valuable staff were made redundant Learners and clients were affected but the changes Staff morale dropped drastically No communication between senior management and the staff on the 'shop-floor' Penny pinching policies.
