Pros

Very friend based work atmosphere.

Cons

Manager hates his job and talks about it all the time. He is also a well know alcoholic that hangs out at work after hours... Which is strange because he leaves work early almost every day. There is absolutely no room for advancement, was recommended to apply out of state for opportunities. Most of the staff calls in regularly and the manager doesn't care. Even he talks about how he doesn't want to work here. If you're looking for a first job go to McDonald's and let this place disappear. Charlie cares more about his executives than he does his "lower level" employees. This year he pulled the yearly bonus of a holiday turkey so he could increase the company's bottom line but making a donation of $25 on behalf of his employees. All that was is a tax break for him... Charlie is the boss from Christmas Vacation. If you don't look out for your employees they won't look out for you and that's how Stinker Store is ran.

Pros

If you enjoy store level retail with customer interaction, this is a good place to work. C-store convenience customers are challenging, but your daily interactions can be positive at the store level.

Cons

All Stinker Stores reviews Stinker Stores Employee Review Not a great place to work – delete Manager (Former Employee) – Boise, ID – November 1, 2019 I don't recommend accepting any promotion opportunities within the company. If you are happy in a position, keep your mouth shut and enjoy it. This company is not open to dissent or discussion and leadership LIES from the top down. You will not receive the benefit of their "Shared Values" that they're so proud of. You will not be mentored unselfishly and your ideas and/or experience will not matter. Again, if you are happy in a position, keep your mouth shut and enjoy it, but don't look for added responsibility, you will be taken advantage of and then the "extra mile" quickly becomes an expectation without recognition.

Pros

Pros include sometimes having a nice manager and co-workers. It basically stops there, though. Managers and up have decent health insurance options.

Cons

Your schedule will probably suck, which is to be expected in retail/sales. They make company-wide changes without the plan being fully thought out, resulting in employees being screwed over when they have to fix their mistakes. They just took away everybody's PTO that they have been working on accruing for the past year (PTO is earned yearly). They are extremely disorganized and will say they will give updates on something on a given date, but the update doesn't come until several days later. They do not show that they value their employees. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED, especially if you are a hard worker and/or looking to establish a career.
