I Feel Terrible for My Staff

Pros

It looks like Stonebridge is finally reading these reviews as evidenced by the recent flurry of 5 star reviews. This sounds like a mandate from the corporate office to the GMs. Very fishy. Don't believe it. The "pro," I guess, is that after several years they are concerned about the damage that so many disgruntled employees can have. So I guess even slow reflexes are better than none. Pay and benefits for managers aren't too bad, to be honest. See below for the other side of that coin.

Cons

As a manager I am not able to offer good wages to my staff, so a large portion of my time at work has become trying to convince them not to quit. When they do invariably leave I can only hire unqualified or desperate people to replace them since high caliber people don't work for peanuts. "If you can find the hotel you are hired" is my primary hiring strategy. Also, upper management will stab you in the back without thinking twice. This is a ruthless company that loves money and the money that comes along with money. If they want to ensure that money keeps moneying for the money, then perhaps money should money other money and keep moneyness in the money. Also, as for money, money can only money on money or money, so money money money moneymoneymoneymoneymoney. And money, too.

Pros

They care about the growth and appearance of the hotel's they own.

Cons

The benefits are terrible. You do not get any paid time off even as a Manager until you have worked with the company for one year and then you get one week, which is hardly worth sticking with the company for a year. Even when you finally get vacation time you get the typical guilt trip when you request Black Friday off. Honestly there is no real reason to stay with this company. No one is happy, everyone is overworked and under appreciated. I know I can speak for everyone in my department when I say there needs to be an incentive. There is a reason your turnover is so bad. I'm not saying this out of spite, I really just want to help.

One Of The Worst Hospitality Companies Anywhere

Pros

The pros are to gain some experience and leave as quickly as possible.

Cons

Management is uneducated. The owner, Navin Dimond, is only interested in accumulating more wealth. Chris Manley is an uneducated, unresponsive, incompetent executive who is incapable of any genuine empathy. Do not trust anyone in this organization, and I would strongly advise you look elsewhere for employment.
