Unprofessional. Disorganized. Nepotism. Misled Startup.
Pros
Nice location / building thats it.
Cons
You'd think after years of getting bad reputation, remarks and ratings that things would change. This is February 2014 and the information you see holds true today. Stripes is a disorganized, unprofessional misled company that has umbrella companies underneath it. It is a startup comprised of UW friends of 8+ years who went through stages of serial entrepreneurship. The core team is built off of the friends club. Nepotism is prevalent (Several top leads are either married or date). Expect little to no future growth. They have hired a professional scouting company to find candidates. They make you go through a 9 round interview process forcing you to submit your resume, multiple interviews, personality tests and what not to match 'compatibility'. Then they aren't sure about the position they originally sought after you either. They are a company that is disorganized. They wanted to hire a yes-man to handle their business automated for them. When asked about their drive, passion and direction they had not a clue. They want to grow and expand from there but have no clue how or what to do. All they know is that they want to expand. They have knowledge of startup buzzwords and methodology but no clue what it truly means or execute them. They are a tech company without any real technical-adept leaders. Once you join them your career longevity is questionable. Because they are 'unsure' about their new business models, and are a rapid developing serial entrepreneurs, they will dump talent immediately if a project fails -- and they fail often. Cannon fodder can be dumped. So join at your own risk. This is a company with years of mistakes with little revision or correction. You'd think by know they'd have it figured out but they don't.
