Pros
One former pro was that you could work with some of the most talented people in the industry. Some of them are still there, but most of them got laid off or left for greener pastures. They offer(ed?) really good health benefits and provided a nice office that was fully stocked to our benefit. There was a really strong sense of community here, when we were still a full team. The pay was livable for the area and the hours were incredibly flexible, which was nice as many of us had families and children.
Cons
Very, very poor communication between management and employees (heck, between management and management) which caused many issues. Company feels very disorganized. Lots of meddling from CEO in all areas, people often not allowed to simply do their jobs. Morale was very low, environment felt hostile at times. Extreme micromanagement and what felt like a major lack of faith in employees contributed largely to this. Weird focus on merchandise tie-ins for their products rather than the products themselves. Case in point, there are several toys being marketed as a tie-ins for a video game which currently has not even been released. Company needs stronger focus on core business which we were told upon being hired was video game content, not toys. Some employees with identical roles and skill sets were not being paid equally. Others were left to do the work of multiple people while still being paid less than other employees.
