It became too disjointed and political since the private equity acquisition
Pros
- Embraced remote work years before it became necessary - A number of good and smart people - Decent pandemic response - The product has (had?) good potential
Cons
- Lack of real empathy. Only a façade - Too focused on quick returns for the private equity, and not enough on real product innovation and investments - The product is falling way behind the competition and even behind emerging players - Lack of clear direction - Lack of work-life balance for some parts of the organization - Departments are siloed and political. Not what you would expect for a company of medium-small size - Disjointed acquisitions sold as the panacea to the market and to the employees, when in reality they only added cohesion problems and additional politics - Unhealthy behaviors and unnecessary sides for some parts of the company - Ever-increasing workload with rarely increasing staff, which creates retention and engagement problems
