Petty mindsets of Reporting Managers and Founders
Pros
- Decent Work environment - Upper Management approachable but myopic - Clinical code of conduct is innate and non negotiable
Cons
[1] POOR TRAINING OF EMPLOYEES The HR and founders lure candidates by telling them the kind of space and time they give for employees to excel, but no actual support is provided. The training is just a 15-30 mins of a single session but as per them, it's the industry standard. [2] HIRING TALENT WITHOUT CLARITY OF JOB DESCRIPTION The reporting manager, HR Team, and the founders were unclear about the job description as I was being assigned random work which was not under my purview. When seeking clarity about the it from the upper management, all they said to ask my reporting manager. When questioned about it with the reporting manager, no concrete reasoning was given and ended the discussion saying 'Well it will be beneficial for you in the career ahead, trust me'. [3] UPPER MANAGEMENT IS EXTREMELY MYOPIC AND NOT OPEN TO LISTENING Upper Management is not open to listen and understand to critical questions crucial to the entity's excellence. Even after having good set of clinicians and ethical standards, the founders are hyper commercial in their approach, making many clients not availing the services. [4] CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION ARE NOT VALUED , RATHER TAKEN FOR GRANTED. This is a major problem with the upper management and the reporting managers, as most of the solutions pitched or anything with a new or creative approach is not recognized. They get excited about AI and other tech integrations but aren't ready to make necessary arrangements to inculcate them in the daily operations. [5]UPPER MANAGEMENT DOESN'T PRACTICE THEIR OWN ORGANISATION'S VALUES AND MORALES They boast of changing mental healthcare and providing rehab to addicts. However, they are the ones openly smoking cigarettes' and vape pens openly in front of employees. [6] UNFAIR WORKING HOURS Event the ones not on the frontlines of the hospital need to work 6 days a week. The entire non clinical workforce which is not on the frontlines and/or directly associated with the patient is made to work for 6 days a week, with no concern for employees well being. The employees are expected to be productive all the time but exhaustion of employees is not taken into account. Quite the irony for a Mental Health organization.
