Toxic "sweatshop" culture. High turnover. Run away.

Pros

The problem space (healthcare AI) is interesting and most of the lower-level colleagues are smart and hardworking.

Cons

This is a fear-based environment. Management operates like a sweatshop, expecting 12+ hour days and weekends while offering zero job security (you will be let go for minor disagreements). Turnover is incredibly high. Talented people are fired constantly on a whim. The leadership is erratic, unprofessional, and treats employees as disposable. Do not be fooled by the initial offer; the culture is deeply broken. HIPAA Violations: I observed routine failures to log access to sensitive data. The "move fast and break things" culture is being applied to patient health information (PHI). Lapsed Compliance: SOC 2 compliance has been allowed to lapse. Risk Assessment: The leadership prioritizes feature speed over legally required security standards. It is a data breach lawsuit waiting to happen.

Pros

Pay is good and interesting product. Smart and kind employees, though they never stay long term

Cons

Culture: Problems start at the top with the 2 founders. Their backgrounds are spotty and opaque, their people skill are lacking. They take pride in wanting to hire only star players but once these star players raised concerns, they fire them on a whim. Everyone who is hired has to go through an 8-week trial period and more than half of new employees hired in the last 6 months got fired during this trial period for bringing up valid alarming issues regarding toxic work culture or cumbersome processes. Employees who manage to onboard themselves and survive the trial period are subjected to micro-management and over-reporting - they burn out within 4 to 8 months due to mistreatment or, like mentioned earlier, get fired for trying to push for positive changes. Product: There is no unified product vision as there is no heads of product or product managers. High number of employees who left abruptly caused a big loss in knowledge transfer and no singular person at the company really understands how all the features of the product work together. Development of new features or improvement of existing ones are difficult due to this lack of personnel and vision Engineering: Engineers and heads of engineering are spread thin because the aforementioned lack of product talents and convoluted systems. They have to prove to leadership why they deserve to have a job on a weekly basis via daily and weekly report. Customers: Clients are all churning at an alarming rate
