Secure and stable company to work for during economic downturn

Pros

It has been around for ages and is the biggest player in the insurance industry They may not pay well but you know you will have a safe and secure job considering the bad economic conditions these days. Benefits are good, managers and HR usually like to take care of their employees

Cons

Does not pay very well, technoligically the company is still behind most other big players in the industry and need to catch up quick, not very receptive to progressive ideas and concepts.

They have always put the client first which enables us to give them the best products available. Great computer based tools and very knowledgeable wholesalers.

Cons

Sales goals can be unrealistic if you are in an economically depressed area. High pressure to obtain sales goals. If not met you will be asked to leave.

Completely dysfunctional transformational mess from AIG being pushed down to the subsidiaries to meet corporate goals.

Fair compensation and benefits package - unusually generous for senior level executives.

Cons

Ridiculous hours - unrelenting and ridiculous deadlines pushed down from AIG with unrealistic expectations on delivery times. AIG Corporate has no patience for or understanding of the impact of these demands on people's day to day lives and ability to do their job (nor do they care).
