Pros

There is now a union agreement at a couple of the branches and once that spreads through the whole company it will make a better workplace for the employees

Cons

The politics are rife within management (and some employees)! Some management are so childish in their actions. The fish rots from the head which one day will prove disastrous.

Pros

Free Pizza or lunches every now and again... yay?

Cons

Working at Suapgas has been an incredibly frustrating experience. The company is plagued by poor management, a lack of pay reviews and increases, and a culture that seems to prioritize red tape over productivity and employee satisfaction. Management: The management team at Suapgas is not only disorganized but also top-heavy. There's a clear favoritism towards the inner circle, and it feels more like a gentleman’s club than a professional workplace. Management would rather pat each other on the back than address any real issues within the company. If you’re not part of the "boys club," you’ll quickly realize that your voice doesn’t matter, and you’ll likely be pushed out if you stand up against the status quo. Decisions are made behind closed doors, and it’s frustrating to see how little interest there is in solving the problems that affect employees daily. Pay and Benefits: There are no regular pay reviews, and any conversations about pay increases are met with resistance or empty promises. The workload continues to grow, but compensation doesn’t follow suit. It's demoralizing to see little to no recognition for hard work or extra effort, especially when the company expects more but isn’t willing to give back in terms of fair pay. BOC and Elgas pay much better for basic positions then Supagas. As with any corporate job, if you are good at your job you also get your work colleagues work load for free! I watched people play Facebook games, watch you tube videos, have 25 smoke breaks a day or just generally avoid work, and these people get patted on the back, while you get their workload, Increased Workload Without Compensation: The workload at Suapgas has become unbearable. Not only are employees expected to do more with less, but the company shows no signs of adjusting compensation or offering additional support. It’s incredibly draining to constantly be asked to take on more tasks, especially when there’s no incentive or reward for doing so. Red Tape and Bureaucracy: Introducing new processes is nearly impossible due to the endless red tape. Any attempt to streamline or improve procedures is bogged down by unnecessary bureaucracy, approvals, and delays. It feels like the company would rather maintain the status quo than make any meaningful changes that could actually improve efficiency or employee morale. Safety Team: The safety team is incredibly overworked and understaffed. Reports are often delayed for months, sometimes up to 3-4 months, due to the backlog. This is a huge safety concern, and it reflects how little the company values its employees' well-being. The lack of attention to safety matters creates a tense and unsafe working environment. Transport and Fleet Condition: Suapgas does not see itself as a transport company, which is a huge problem, given that delivery and transport are a core part of its operations. Any attempt to fix or improve the company’s delivery capabilities is met with extreme resistance. This mindset is evident in the poor condition of the fleet and assets used to deliver products. The equipment is outdated and poorly maintained, which only adds to the stress of the job and highlights the company’s lack of investment in its operations. Overall, I would not recommend Suapgas to anyone. The company’s failure to address these issues has made it an extremely frustrating place to work. The lack of support, fair compensation, and inefficient systems make it difficult to stay motivated and invested in your role. There are much better opportunities out there that value their employees and promote a healthier work environment.
