Pros

- There are a ton of really smart and personable people to work with. One of the most diverse work forces I have been a part of - Depending on the division or team you are in, you can have a better or worse product and team dynamic - The compensation and benefits are solid - The tooling and technology are solid - Fully remote

Cons

- Sure is in decline. There has not been a major enterprise sale in 2 years. The company has been living off existing bespoke services business without any substantial growth. In reality despite many undermined attempts, there is no scalable product despite being at series C. As other reviews have mentioned, there is only more bespoke agency work. Many clients who get onboarded leave within a few months because what they are sold differs so greatly from what we offer/they needed. - Some of the PM positions are not true product management. You act as a project manager translating client requirements exactly as they are presented to you. Because of lack of a customer base and exec expectations, you cannot push back and clients dictate your features and remove your autonomy. Some PMs do not even have an engineering team under them. - Good ol boys club in top level leadership. Since these leaders have been around for awhile and are all best buds, they are protected despite negative review feedback and our product and sales failures. The VP of product reports to the CTO, who together overrule and undermine bottom up product strategy and decision making constantly while also failing to set any strategy themselves. - Since we have no new business, leadership gras at straws and desperately shift team priorities on a dime, setting arbitrary and unrealistic deadlines. For example, having a team drop everything to build on a prospective client demo for a piece of functionality we don't actually have and expecting in a week. - Additionally, despite preaching transparency, leadership kept quiet when they laid off several respected and long standing EM's and product managers this year, providing them no notice, reason, or severance. - No bonus structure or 401k match. The equity at IC level is paltry and is a closely guarded subject by leadership. Raises this year were below inflation, with some getting promoted but only low single digit increases in comp. Given the state of affairs, most I know at the company are currently looking for jobs. It's hard to leave given the salary base and current tech job market, but I would not be surprised if there were massive layoffs this year. If you are a prospective applicant I would think twice and take into account Sure was a great place to work two years ago as indicated when of the reviews were written. But unfortunately the company has failed to make the headwind necessary to be successful and is on a path towards failure.

Pros

- The culture is overwhelmingly positive and supportive. I can’t think of a single person I dislike working with. - Newer tech, very little legacy code to maintain. Engineers are given ownership over their own services and the freedom to change things as they need. - I’ve never worked over 40 hours in a week, and the CTO regularly reminds everyone not to work to the point of burnout. - SDLC works well, and our QA team is thorough. I've only had a single “drop everything and fix it now” issue in prod in over a year and even that was resolved in an hour. - Engineering leadership is humble and open to new ideas. They make changes based on feedback. They’re also genuinely good people. - Internal promotions are common. Most of our VPs and directors of engineering started out as engineers. - Your work is noticed. People celebrate each other’s wins all the time. During my performance review my boss remembered more details about what I had done over the last year than I did. I’ve never been put in a position where I had to fight to remind someone above me of the value I bring to the team.

Cons

- No 401k match. Senior leadership has said this is a priority for almost a year now. The excuses they've given for why this hasn't happened yet are weak. - No meaningful equity. It's a bit cringey when the CEO talks about building a rocket ship when that rocket ship only has a couple of seats. The size of everyone's equity is comically small relative to their contribution. - Salary bumps aren't keeping up with inflation. Adjusted for inflation, this is the first job I've had where the longer I work here the less money I make. - The flip side of the promotions being common is that we have a lot of higher level people (directors, VPs) who were ICs just a few years ago. This has exposed some growing pains as these people are learning on the job. Overall it's been pretty smooth but it's something to be aware of.

Pros

- Friendly smart coworkers - Scrappy startup culture - Big well paying clients - Decent work/life balance

Cons

- Bait and switch job description. Pretends it's a fintech but is really a digital agency - Cliquey leadership that's not transparent and talks behind people's backs - Client controls entire project. Very little technical autonomy - Tons of micromanagement - Zero transparency of company financials - Spaghetti code API that's practically impossible to extend
